Premium hair deserves premium care. Follow these guidelines to maximize the lifespan, softness, and beauty of your Sinkor hair — whether you're wearing bundles, a closure, frontal, or a full wig.
Cleansing
Washing Instructions
Proper washing removes product buildup and keeps your hair looking fresh. Wash every 1–2 weeks depending on how often you wear it and how much styling product you use.
Use lukewarm water only. Hot water strips moisture from the cuticle and causes frizz and tangling.
Apply shampoo in a downward motion — never scrub in circular motions, which causes matting and shedding.
Use a sulfate-free shampoo to preserve the hair's natural moisture balance. Sulfates are too harsh for human hair extensions.
Detangle before washing. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers — start from the ends and work up to the root.
Always follow with a moisturizing conditioner. Leave in for 3–5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Never soak bundles or wefts fully submerged — wash under running water to prevent weft damage.
Pro Tip: Do a deep conditioning treatment once a month using a moisturizing hair mask. Apply from mid-shaft to ends, cover with a plastic cap, and let sit for 20–30 minutes before rinsing.
Styling
Heat Usage Guidelines
Sinkor hair can withstand heat styling — but excessive heat is the fastest way to damage your investment. Always use a heat protectant and stay within the recommended temperature range.

Safe on all hair types
Always apply a heat protectant spray before any heat styling. Work section by section for full coverage.
Limit heat styling to 2–3 times per week maximum to preserve the cuticle layer and prevent dryness.
Never apply heat to wet or damp hair. Always blow-dry or air-dry fully first to prevent heat damage and breakage.
Nightly Protection
Sleeping Protection
How you sleep in your hair determines how it looks the next morning — and how long it lasts. Cotton pillowcases cause friction, frizz, and tangling. A silk or satin barrier is non-negotiable.
Wear a silk or satin bonnet every night. This is the single most effective thing you can do to extend your hair's lifespan.
If you don't use a bonnet, sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. It reduces friction and moisture loss significantly.
For bundles and sew-ins: braid or wrap your hair down before putting on your bonnet to prevent matting at the weft.
For wigs: remove and store on a wig stand or mannequin head at night. Never sleep in a lace wig — it weakens the lace and shortens its life.
Never sleep on wet hair. Wet hair is fragile, stretches easily, and mats against your head, causing irreversible damage.
What to Use
Product Recommendations
Less is more. You don't need an extensive product lineup — just the right ones. These are the categories that matter for maintaining human hair extensions.
Moisture
Argan Oil
Apply a small amount to the mid-shaft and ends to restore shine and seal the cuticle after washing. Avoid the weft/roots to prevent slippage.
Hydration
Leave-In Conditioner
A lightweight leave-in applied after washing keeps hair moisturized between washes. Spray or work through with your fingers — never over-saturate.
Heat Defense
Heat Protectant Spray
Essential before any flat iron, curling iron, or blow dryer. Apply evenly to dry or damp hair before styling. Do not skip this step.
Detangling
Wide-Tooth Comb
The only tool you need for detangling. Start at the ends and work upward. Never rip through knots — work patiently from the bottom up.
Avoid: Products with alcohol (causes dryness), heavy waxes or butters (build up on wefts), and drugstore clarifying shampoos with sulfates. Invest in salon-quality sulfate-free products and your hair will thank you.
Getting the Most
Extending Your Hair's Longevity
Sinkor hair is made to last. Virgin hair, properly maintained, can last 2–3+ years. Remy hair lasts 1–2+ years with good care. These habits are the difference between 6 months and 3 years.
Detangle daily with a soft bristle brush or wide-tooth comb. Knots that sit for days become permanent matting.
Store hair in a satin bag or on a wig stand when not in use. Never bundle it loosely in a drawer.
Minimize exposure to chlorine and saltwater. If swimming, wear a swim cap. Rinse and condition immediately after any exposure.
Limit heavy product use. Product buildup is the #1 cause of premature dullness and tangling in human hair extensions.
Get regular trims on the ends (even extensions develop split ends) to keep the hair looking healthy and fresh.
Care By Hair Type
Care Tips by Hair Type
Different installations have different care needs. Select your hair type below for specific guidance.
Wash bundles while installed in the direction of the weft (root to tip) to prevent shedding and tangling at the weft.
Dry the weft and scalp thoroughly — moisture trapped at the weft can cause mildew and loosen your install over time.
Wrap bundles at night in a satin scarf and secure with a bonnet. This preserves the style and reduces frizz from friction.
When storing bundles off-install: roll gently and store in a satin bag. Do not leave loose on a shelf — they will tangle.
Clean the lace with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to remove glue, sweat, and product buildup. Work gently to avoid stretching the lace.
Apply a tinted lace spray or powder to your skin tone before wearing for a more natural scalp appearance.
Condition the hair portion regularly but avoid conditioning the lace itself — it weakens the knots over time.
Never cut the lace prematurely before testing placement and adhesive. Measure twice, cut once — lace cannot be uncut.
Frontals require more frequent lace cleaning than closures due to their size. Clean the lace every 1–2 weeks to prevent buildup and lifting.
Use a gentle lace adhesive remover when taking down your frontal. Never peel the lace off dry — it damages the hairline.
Let the lace breathe between installs. Give your natural hairline a minimum of 3–5 days before reapplying adhesive.
Store flat on a mannequin head with the hairline pinned down so the lace holds its shape between installs.
Remove your wig before sleeping. Store on a wig stand or mannequin head — this preserves the shape and prevents tangling.
Wash wig units on a wig stand, not in your hands or a sink basin. Keeping it structured while washing prevents the cap from distorting.
Air-dry only when possible. If blow-drying, use the cool setting while the wig is on a stand, not your head.
Brush starting at the ends first. Wigs tangle from the bottom up — always work bottom to top, never pull through from the root.
Never sleep, swim, or shower in a lace wig. The lace and glue cannot withstand prolonged moisture and friction.
